What started out as an awkward 2020 “Quarantine” necessity, quickly turned into a most enjoyable way to perform and connect with fans, friends, and family in a time where gathering for entertainment was simply impossible. Mark Kovaly LIVE has become a popular brand of Live Streaming content and serves as a pleasant diversion in stressful times and a much-needed source of entertainment. The very first stream was put together in lieu of a canceled show and consisted of Mark playing the Billy Joel repertoire and taking requests. It has transformed over just a few months into an intimate variety show filled with great music, stories, and conversations.

The streams present an opportunity to reach fan friends and family in a unique medium and represent a whole new chapter in Mark’s career as a performer. “I would have never imagined the streaming to be so difficult, and so enjoyable at the same time.” Says Mark. “It combines some of the best elements of live performance, but with a demand for studio accuracy. The engagement of the chat and consistent viewership has also encouraged me to share things with the audience about my personal life that live artists do not usually have to or get a chance to divulge.” Mark believe the streams demand a higher and more accurate performance, both musically and vocally. “It’s the most demanding and rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I’ve definitely become an even more a more well-rounded musician, singer, and person.”

Canden Bliss Jackson, Mark’s longtime girlfriend, originally became a part of the streams to be supportive in a time where traditional work for Mark was non-existent. She was helpful running the cameras and managing requests, etc. Her talent and experience as an on-camera host while living in Los Angeles for many years quickly became apparent and the audience wanted to see and hear more of her. Since then she has become an integral part of the show as Host, Executive Producer, Lighting Technician, Manager of Cash Apps and Requests, as well as facilitating the lively audience chat! Mark and Canden’s dog, Timmy, also stole the hearts of the audience after a few appearances and is now considered the official Mascot (and let’s be honest, the real star) of Mark Kovaly Live and all of the branded streaming shows Mark performs on the Facebook platform.
